The American Indian College Fund and Ford Motor Company are pleased to announce the Ford Motor Company/American Indian College Fund Corporate Scholars Program. This program awards scholarships to deserving American Indian students. Each need-based scholarship, up to $10,000 per year, can be renewed annually for up to three years, as long as the student continues to meet the program’s requirements. Eligible students are those who have achieved sophomore status and have declared a major in accounting; computer, electrical or mechanical engineering; finance; information systems; marketing or operations management.

"BizFest" is an innovative and intensive entrepreneurial training program in which Latino youth learn how to turn hobbies into profitable ventures through the basics of entrepreneurship and leadership. Sponsored in part by Ford Motor Company Fund, "BizFest" is a signature program of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation.
Additional Incentives
The top 2006 "BizFest" winners are invited to attend the USHCC 27th Annual National Convention and Business Expo, September 20-23, 2006, in Philadelphia, PA, and compete against other regional “BizFest” winners at the National "BizFest" Competition. The USHCC Foundation covers all costs associated with travel and lodging.

If you are now, or have been, a student of Ford PAS, are applying to college this year, and want to pursue a degree in technology or engineering, now is the time to apply for a $10,000 scholarship! Scholarship recipients can attend any accredited college or university in the United States.

The Horace Mann Companies is offering $30,000 in scholarships for public and private school educators to take college courses. Scholarship money will be paid directly to each recipient's college or university for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. Scholarship applicants will be judged on a written essay, school and community activities, and letters of recommendation. One recipient will receive $5,000 in scholarship funds payable over four years, and 15 other recipients will receive $1,000 each in scholarship funds payable over two years. Twenty additional recipients each will receive one-time $500 awards. Financial need is not a consideration, but applicants who have all educational expenses paid through other scholarships and/or grants are ineligible. The program is not open to residents of Hawaii, New Jersey, or New York.

Organization: The Home Depot Foundation

The Home Depot Foundation gives cash and materials to help provide young people with safe places to play and learn, leadership programs that teach skills through community engagement, and job readiness training. The Home Depot Foundation focuses its support on programs that serve at-risk youth ages 12 to 18. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $25,000. The foundation gives first priority to organizations that have been invited to apply for a grant. However, the foundation also will consider unsolicited requests that match its eligibility requirements. The foundation will consider only one proposal from the same organization in a 12-month period. Applications are reviewed four times per year and are to be submitted online.

ING started the Unsung Heroes awards program in 1995 as a reflection of its commitment to the educational community. The awards are given to K-12 educators pioneering in new methods and techniques that improve student learning. Educators submit applications describing projects they have initiated or would like to create. Their applications are judged on their innovative teaching methods, creative educational projects, and ability to make a positive influence on the children they teach.
