Ford PAS program links students to real-life applications

Classroom learning used to be centered on textbooks and chalkboards, but that’s no longer the case. Today, learning is all about teaching and technology. However, having the technology in place isn’t enough. It’s having quality teachers who are trained in the technology and willing to employ creative teaching methods in order to reach all students that really make a difference.

West Bloomfield School District officials give teachers the tools they need not only to teach students, but to inspire them. That’s why five years ago West Bloomfield was one of the first districts involved with the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies program. Often referred to as the Ford PAS program, it is designed to link high school students learning traditional academic subjects with "real life" applications, such as challenges they may face in college or the workplace.
